Första plantorna / First plants

Mina första plantor tar sig fint. Sådde frön och planterade sticklingar i april. Ännu är det alldeles för kallt ute, så de får stanna en månad till på fönsterbrädan. De är början på årets balkong djungel, min speciella plats.

My first plants are coming along nicely. Sowed seeds and planted cuttings in April. It is still too cold outside, so they will stay on my window sill one more month. They are the beginning of this year´s balcony jungle, my special place.

Så och plantera / Sow and plant

Det är snöigt och kallt ute. För att få lite vårkänslor sådde jag frön och planterade sticklingar.
Till tomatfröna gjorde jag ett litet växthus av återvunnet. De får stanna på fönsterbrädan till början av juni, när det är tillräckligt varmt på balkongen och nattfrosten är över. Planterade också sticklingarna av palettblad och pelargon.
Om ett par veckor är det dags att så solrosor och andra växter.

It is snowy and cold outside. To get some spring feelings I sowed seeds and planted cuttings.
To the tomato seeds I used recycling to make a small greenhouse. They will stay on my window sill until beginning of June, when it is warm enough on my balcony and the night frost is over. I also planted my cuttings of Coleus flowers and Geraniums.
In a couple of weeks it is time to sow sunflowers and other plants.

Tomaterna har blommor / The tomatoes have flowers

Mina tomatplantor har fått sina första blommor. Så spännande! Men det finns inga bin i min inglasade balkong. Jag fick ett tips att tomatplantor kan självpollinera, men de behöver lite hjälp och enklaste sättet är att skaka dem.
Tro det eller ej, det fungerar!

My tomato plants have got their first flowers. So exciting! But there are no bees in my glassed balcony. I got a tip that tomato plants can self pollinate, but they need some help and the easiest way is to shake them.
Believe it or not, it works!

Tomater och solrosor / Tomatoes and sunflowers

Tomaterna och solrosorna tar sig fint. Gillar så att plantera frön och se hur de växer. Hade inga krukor så jag gjorde lite återvinning. Om ett par veckor är det tillräckligt varmt för plantorna att flytta utomhus och få större krukor.

The tomatoes and sunflowers are coming along fine. Love to plant seeds and see them grow. Did not have any pots so I did some recycling. In a few weeks it will be warm enough for the plants to move outside and get bigger pots.

Dags att börja så frön och drömma om den oas eller kanske djungel, som jag vill skapa på balkongen. Idag blev det tomatfrön. Använde återvinning till en liten drivbänk. Om ett tag ska jag så solrosor och lite andra blommor.

De har äntligen börjat blomma. Men bina kommer inte in i min inglasade balkong, så vad gör man.
Jag fick ett tips att ruska på plantorna för att hjälpa dem självpollinera.
